Those We Lost in 2012

Bud and Dexter

If you crunch the numbers, you’ll see that we are a bigger rescue now than we were at the beginning of the year. We’ve undertaken this growth carefully and deliberately, and our operational budget has grown right along with our capacity. Our new facility SAFE Harbor Stables can house more horses year round, and our network of available foster homes continues to grow.

But in order to help Pierce County Animal Control with the horses they seized from Graham in September, we made the decision to exceed our capacity — not by much, but by enough that we know that we have a lot of hard work ahead of us. If you’ve been following the plight of these horses, you know just how desperately they needed our help, and helping desperate horses is our entire reason for being. We are counting on our supporters to be there working alongside us, and we have faith that you will rise to the occasion and help us keep doing this important work. Whether you are donor, a volunteer, or even just an advocate for the cause, the time to help is now. When faced with equine suffering, it is hard to sit by and do nothing, so we welcome the hard work that is ahead of us! We hope that you will join in and be part of this amazing experience!
