Horses are an integral part of Eileen’s life. As a child, she participated in local rodeos in Eastern Washington and rode along many miles of cattle fencing. As an adult in Western Washington, she competes in the hunter and equitation rings for the most part (although she greatly enjoyed dabbling in dressage with the lovely Lucianna’s at Half Trak Farm for a show season). Presently, she feels very fortunate to ride with the Archway Equestrian Sports team in Woodinville. Eileen began with horse rescue specifically as a member of the Cowgirl Spirit Rescue Drill Team for several years and then transitioned into being a foster home for SAFE. She coordinated SAFE’s Foster Program in 2015 and SAFE’s Marta and Shay have very happily dictated her daily routine for four years now. Eileen also serves on a County Board managing and preserving the Snoqualmie Watershed, and has worked in the taxation and environmental law fields respectively. Horses provided her much needed confidence and happiness in her early childhood, so she is happy to give back a just a bit of what they have given her. (email)
