One of the most unforgettable SAFE horses left this world last night. Sinatra was absolutely one of a kind, and there will never be another horse like him. He came to SAFE as a six month old colt, barely clinging to life, and survived to spend the next 14 years delighting and exasperating everyone he met. He was adopted to his dream forever home three years ago, where he was reunited with his brother Phoenix. Sinatra lived the good life and he was adored completely for who he was. Sadly, this past weekend, he had an episode of choke which caused aspiration pneumonia. He was taken to Pilchuck last night where they found that his lungs were badly compromised and the bacterial infection had spread throughout his system. His adopters, our dear friends Bryan and Lauren, had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go. Sinatra was loved, and he will be missed so much. Rest in peace, sweetie, and say hello to Honeycutt.
