Our second quarter of SAFE alumni checks has come to a close. Q2 was extremely busy with 54 horses scheduled for their annual check, bringing our total number of horses checked on for the year up to 102!

43 horses were visited in person, with the remaining 11 horses getting their check-ins over the phone, either because of a far geographic location, or because they had been seen in person last year. This quarter we had a few rehoming contacts signed, welcoming 4 new owners into our SAFE alumni fold.

Our volunteers traveled far and wide all over the state to visit with our alums: west to Port Townsend, east to Walla Walla and Chattaroy, south to Olympia, and north to Sedro-Wooley. These visits are a great way to continue to build and strengthen relationships with our alumni, and address and troubleshoot any concerns or issues they might be experiencing.

This quarter may be over, but we are gearing up for the next! Third quarter emails are already being sent out to volunteers with horse assignments — 41 are scheduled to be seen in the next quarter.

We have so enjoyed visiting with and hearing from our alumni this quarter, and are looking forward to the next round! Thanks to our alumni team for their hard work in getting everyone checked on.
