CARNATION, Wash. — Four horses have been found dead and 10 others have been seized from a farm in Carnation where no food was found for the animals, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.
The farm was being rented by a woman in her 50s who was arrested this weekend on suspicion of animal cruelty, said KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Jeff Dubois.
“This is by far the most extreme case that I’ve seen. It was pretty horrific,” Dr. Hannah Evergrenn with Evergreen Holistic Veterinarian said.
A neighbor told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that the woman moved to the farm last fall and was trying to start a boarding facility for horses.
“I saw the emaciated state of all the horses, I mean they were basically starving to death, the whole head,” Evergreen said.
Members of the group Save a Forgotten Equine said it had been “quite some time” since the horses had eaten. Read the full story at KIRO.com.
