Yesterday was a banner day for SAFE’s FALL INTO WINTER feed drive. It was the final day of a matching challenge presented by long-time SAFE supporters Cara & Scott, and as the day began, we’d only managed to raise $110 of the $500 that had been offered for matching. But when the call for help went out, the people of SAFE responded! By mid-day, with the kind help of Sara E, Anita F, the Lutz Family Foundation, Lisa L, Lisa N, Honeycutt, and Leslianne C, we had reached $495 — and by adding the change in our couch cushions, we’d raised enough for the matching funds! But the donations didn’t stop there, and Cara announced that she and Scott would put up another $500 in matching funds to keep the feed drive going! This kickstart was all we needed and by the end of the day, incredibly, we’d raised another $1,840, thanks to the following people:

- Margaret C, who made a second donation to the Feed Drive for two bales of hay and a bag of grain!
- Abby G, who donated enough for two bags of grain and a bag of treats!

At the end of the day, when we added it all up along with the $1000 donated by Cara & Scott, the Feed Drive stood at an amazing $7,015!!!
It was a wonderful day and we all went to bed happy knowing that the SAFE horses would have lots and lots of lovely hays and tasty grain (as Honeycutt likes to say!) We are so fortunate to have such amazing supporters and we thank each and every one of them!!
