Lexee N on working with Harissa:

Well this mare continues to impress me and many others. The first Joel Conner clinic we have made it to a huge stepping stone of saddling Harissa for the first time in her life.

Not often do we know a horse’s history of their past work experience but the way this mare came in to how she is now is quite the journey. From being untouchable and aggressive to a sweet and slightly insecure mare, this girl is certainly starting to steal the hearts of many.

Her first saddling went as expected. We knew she would buck but she came out of it quick. She moved out with ease after a few tests of the saddle and quickly was searching for help and guidance from me. Both a huge step in the right direction. So far, by then of clinic she had been saddled about 6 times and she stopped bucking after day 2. Also a great progression. As we continue to work these next months we will be spending the time she needs to get ready to carry a rider but we’re in no rush. She will need some extra time to get through changing eyes with the saddle and make sure all the bucks are out of there.

Harissa is turning into quite the horse and I’m excited for her future.”
