Casey A has been working and riding Moshi for the last several months, and has the following to say about bringing this cute pony along:
“Moshi is turning into an incredibly fun partner. She is great to work around on the ground, stands tied, loads onto the trailer no sweat, she’s easy to catch in the paddock, and, of course, is quite sweet. She can be challenging to turn out with other horses, but with a slow introduction, she’s proven herself to be a fair, though dominant herd mate.
She is a very forward ride, which translates to a lot of try and search. There are times when she gets a bit ahead of me, but as I’ve become more efficient at getting to her feet and giving her confidence, the frequency and duration when she “checks out” has significantly diminished. As I’ve begun to pick up a soft feel at the walk and trot, she has really elevated, which feels amazing!
My next focus will be getting the rein better connected to her front feet to encourage her to reach out in each gait. When Joel was here last, we identified this as an area of weakness, and with just a bit of work, she was already widening through her shoulders and whither. I’m excited to see how this increased balance improves our line and soft feel.”
