Romeo was successfully gelded today by Dr. Hannah at NWESC. She reported that he did very well, she was a little worried about the recovery because of his leg and his age, but he stayed down very quiet after he woke up and then got up without drama. He will stay at NWESC for the next few weeks while he recovers.
In other news, his xrays, which showed a congenital defect in his right hind fetlock with subsequent arthritis, were sent off to Dr. Bryant at Pilchuck to see if Romeo could be a candidate for surgical fusing of the fetlock joint. Here are the xrays, pretty interesting aren’t they?
Yay! He’s going to be SO much happier! He really is a beautiful horse, and he was so sweet for stallion who came from his background. I hope someone appreciates him for who he is and gives him a forever home.
Glad to see he is doing better! He really is a sweet horse. Thank you very much SAFE!
