Happy Friday, SAFE Friends! We have 5 new horses coming to SAFE tomorrow — a group of Arabs that were seized by Pierce County Animal Control because their owner starved them. They are on the road to recovery, but as you know, that’s a pretty long road. So today we are going to introduce these horses to you one by one as part of a special emergency Pledge Drive. These horses need friends, caretakers and SPONSORS. Please answer the call, and sign up to sponsor a SAFE horse today!
First up…
Scooter is a 17 year old chestnut Arab stallion who’s spent the past several years as part of a breeding program…and was starved & seized by Animal Control along with 15 other Arabs. Scooter has a long road ahead of him.…first stop, the vet clinic for gelding…then rehab, and then training for a new life.
Will you help? Sponsor Scooter today!
Next let us introduce…
Marta is a 22 year old bay Arab mare from the same breeding operation as Scooter. Her life is about to change and with training, we hope she’ll have a new career soon as well. Would you like to sponsor Marta?
Will you help? Sponsor Marta today!
Next let’s meet…
Oscar is also a stallion — he’s 16 years old, bay, with a big white star. Like Scooter, he’s about to start a new life as a happy gelding.
Will you help? Sponsor Oscar today!
Our next new horse is…
Louie is a 15 year old gelding who’s been shown under saddle, so hopefully he’ll make a good riding horse again with some refresher training.
Will you help? Sponsor Louie today!
And finally…
Last but not least, this is EA Wild Thing. She’s 21, bay, and a former in-hand champion. What a sweet face!
I’m almost afraid to ask, but were the other 10 Arabs able to be rescued as well? I hope?
Yes, Tracy, Pierce Co Animal Control seized 16 horses in total. We were able to take 5 of them, including the two stallions.
are the 10 other horses
also available for adoption ? with other organizations ?
Looked up EA Wild thing on the data source, she won EVERY class she entered, some classes filled with 12 horses.…nice mare
Marta is an own daughter of Probat…some very old blood there…she is a treasure
Scooter if I found the right one is an own son of Padron…my oh my
I can’t wait to see them come back to health–these little Arabs already have a special place in my heart. It was hard to choose who to sponsor so Sasha and I chose them all. 🙂
thank you so much Megan!! What a great surprise to wake up to. Thanks so much for caring & giving back!!!!
So Katie — I take it Padron and Probat are notable sires in the Arab world? What a shame that such valuable animals would be treated so poorly. (of course it’s a shame that any animal be treated the way these horses were!)
