Woman charged over dead, dying horses

A Carnation woman was charged Wednesday with three counts of first-degree animal cruelty after police found several dead or dying horses on her properties in King and Snohomish counties.

Jean Elledge, 56, told police she runs a horse boarding and breeding business at her Carnation property and admitted responsibility for the animals’ poor health, according to King County Superior Court documents.
