We managed to squeeze in one last event before the end of the year — a training for a new officer at Snohomish County Animal Control! Officer Cameron was warmly greeted by our barn cats before spending the day learning some of the many things there are to learn about horses and horse rescue. It’s always a pleasure to host new officers and give them a snapshot of what SAFE does, and by extension, what we do together. We go over such topics as body condition scoring, common health issues and how to take vitals, the correct environment a horse should be housed in, trailer loading and using chutes, and much more. As always, Sienna was a perfect model for the hands-on activities. It was a pleasure to have Officer Cameron for training with us!
