Here is a video of the event, which includes a lot of great information from Terry. (Note: Terry mistakenly says King is 7 but we think he’s closer to 10, from what Animal Control told us.)
Jolene has been working to prepare King for his first saddling. He is a very sensitive boy so she has been preparing him with a ton of groundwork and it shows. The experience was very successful and he was able to experience this important training step without too much stress or worry. Great job, Jolene!
Impressive. Nice work, Jolene. He’s a good looking fella. Someone’s going to be really fortunate to land him!
Hello I’m interested in more information on how one would go about adopting one of your horses.
Particularly this guy
I see he is on the potential list. How long does he stay at a potential? I’m sure based on how well he does in training, but an estimate of what to expect would be great.
Could you give me the info on how to get started?
Thank you, and great job on the training and amount of love you put into these horses.
Beautiful!
Sincerely,
Terry Parker
Hi Terry!
We have an adoption application that is the usual first step towards adopting a SAFE horse. If you can submit that, you’ll be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator who can answer any questions you have about King. We have him classified as a prospect because we are planning to send him to training this month to be started. Typically we give our horses about 60 days training to start, unless they need more. King has done quite well with his groundwork, so we have high hopes he’ll do well under saddle.
