Save a Forgotten Equine was honored with an award at this weekend’s Equine Rescue Appreciation Symposium presented by Northwest Equine Stewardship Center. We received a lovely plaque that we will be proudly displaying at SAFE Harbor. Thank you so much to Dr Hannah Mueller, Tami Petrie, and everyone at NWESC for this honor.
This award was a reminder to us of how much SAFE has benefitted from its relationship with Dr. Mueller over the years. She’s been providing our horses with vet services since our rescue formed in 2005, helping us make the transition from a feedlot rescue into a true rehabilitative organization. It was Hannah who pulled us in on our first large-scale animal control seizure case in 2008, which further grew and defined SAFE into what it is today. We are so proud to partner with Dr Hannah, and we know that this partnership has had a significant impact on the lives of many horses.
NWESC’s Equine Rescue Appreciation Symposium was a terrific event that included a very thought provoking discussion about some of the issues facing our local equine community.
